Berlin, 13.01.2022. The corporate credit card startup Pliant is expanding to Austria, the first foreign market for the Berlin-based fintech. The target group consists especially of companies with high credit card spending, regardless of their number of employees. With market entry, Pliant becomes the first credit card provider in Austria with fully digital card management, receipt collection and integration into accounting. The market entry follows a very successful seed financing round at the end of December 2021 with a total amount of 18 million euros. These funds were primarily earmarked for the internationalisation, which is now officially starting.

Malte Rau, CEO of Pliant, says about the expansion: "We see our business prospects in Austria as extremely promising: There are hardly any practical industry solutions in the B2B fintech segment there; rather, the fintech competitors are on the move in the B2C segment . It is true that traditional banks also offer corporate credit cards. But as in Germany, these processes are not digitalised - too time-consuming and still paper-heavy. We, on the other hand, bring a product to the market that is urgently needed by Austria's companies and that is the best, most flexible solution for them."

In addition to the fully digital card management, many unique selling points speak for the Pliant corporate credit card: For example, it can be used from any account at and is therefore independent of the house bank. In addition, the solution from Pliant can be seamlessly integrated into existing financial processes and accounting systems. Issued are real credit cards, with a credit limit of up to one million euros and more. In addition , Pliant offers a solution for business trips based on the principle of "climate protection instead of bonus miles" : CO2 emissions can be offset via the Pliant earth feature and cashbacks reinvested in certified sustainability projects.

Fabian Terner, CPO of Pliant, adds: "With all these functions, our customers receive the greatest possible efficiency and flexibility in terms of limits, IT systems and existing banking relationships; also through the integration of best-in-class partners, with whom we cooperate closely. Added to this are premium card benefits and attractive cashbacks, i.e. bonus payments for customers with which high transaction volumes are remunerated. Everything follows the basic principle of relying fully on individual solutions instead of rigid all-in-one concepts."
